Opening
Last night I stepped into the new TOKI Listening Bar inside Tono by Akira Back at the W Hotel Toronto, and the vibe was absolutely wicked. The music selection was exceptional, the cocktails were on point, the atmosphere felt elevated yet welcoming, and the staff brought an energy that made the entire experience even stronger. It reminded me once again that listening culture is growing in Toronto and people are craving intentional spaces where music, conversation, cocktails, wine, and connection all matter equally.
This past week was another huge moment for Love Music Love Wine Radio. We started with JAZZ Wednesdaze and a deep dive into Jazz Noir, which carried late-night cinematic energy across the Twitch Raid Train. Saturday afternoon, we locked into heavy grooves on PLAY music and DRINK wine with Funk, paired perfectly with Muriel Reserva 2020 Rioja, creating one of the smoothest Saturday sessions we have delivered in a while. On Sunday morning on BEANS & BEATS, “IT’S A JAZZ Thing,” we explored Nu Jazz and Jazz House in a session filled with rhythm, movement, experimentation, and forward-thinking Jazz energy. Then we closed the weekend strong with JAZZ Flavours focused on Acid Jazz, ending the week with groove, soul, improvisation, and community all moving together at a high level.
Beyond the broadcasts, I am also excited to officially step into a new role within the SonixFM family as Director of Music Programming. This is a major opportunity to continue shaping intentional music experiences and helping push deeper musical discovery forward through the station. Lots more to come, so keep it locked.
And now we look ahead to Friday, June 12, as SIPS & SOUNDS returns to Muse Bistro and Bar inside the TOOR Hotel, a space quickly becoming one of Toronto’s defining destinations for music, wine, food, culture, connection, and hospitality.

The Pulse
The energy around the platform continues to grow as people connect with something deeper than playlists and passive listening. Every session this past week carried purpose, atmosphere, and identity, and the audience responded in a major way. From Jazz Noir textures to Funk grooves, Nu Jazz experimentation, and Acid Jazz movement, the broadcasts felt alive from start to finish. What is happening now feels bigger than weekly radio shows. The rooms are forming, the listeners are becoming a community, and the sound continues to sharpen week after week.

What’s On Dre’s Mind
Art, Jazz, and wine all live in the same emotional space because they reward patience, interpretation, curiosity, and presence. Abstract art does not always reveal itself immediately, and neither does Jazz. The deeper you sit with both, the more layers begin to appear.
The idea that Jazz is dead usually comes from people who are not paying attention. Jazz is alive, evolving, expanding, and reaching new generations through Nu Jazz, Spiritual Jazz, Acid Jazz, Jazz House, Avant-Garde experimentation, and countless other movements happening around the world right now.
Commercial radio often avoids deeper musical education because it is not always viewed as the easiest commercial proposition, but audiences deserve more than repetitive, surface-level programming. People deserve discovery, context, and access to the full depth of the music. At Love Music Love Wine Radio, we will continue doing our part to push that conversation forward because Jazz has never stopped growing.

Final Sip
What is happening right now feels significant because it is being built with authenticity, patience, and real connection. Not through shortcuts, forced hype, or manufactured moments, but through consistent broadcasts, meaningful rooms, intentional listening, and a community that genuinely believes in the experience.
The broadcasts are becoming stronger. The rooms are becoming fuller. The conversations are becoming deeper. The culture is becoming more connected.
Love Music Love Wine Radio is evolving into more than an online station. SIPS & SOUNDS is evolving into more than an event series. Together, they are becoming part of a larger movement centred around music discovery, wine culture, hospitality, storytelling, coffee rituals, and intentional human connection.
Every week, new listeners arrive. Every week, the community expands. Every week, the foundation becomes stronger.
And the most exciting part is that this still feels like the very beginning of where this can go.
