Welcome to This Week’s Groove
Well, people, I just got back from New York City. My better half and I were there celebrating her belated birthday, and I have to say, I missed that city. It had been more than twenty years since my last real visit.
The hotel bars. The restaurants. The libraries. The museums. The galleries. Culture layered on culture. A city that reminds you very quickly that art is not decoration, it is oxygen.
But what really stayed with me were the listening spaces.
All Blues in Tribeca. No flashy sign. No loud branding. You find it because you are meant to. Two rooms. One for wine and conversation. One for disciplined deep listening. No phones. No chatter. Just respect for the selector and the sound. A full McIntosh system glowing with those blue meters while the speakers move air with elegance and authority.
Then the HiFi Pursuit Listening Room featuring Devon Turnbull, known as OJAS. Sculptural high fidelity systems built for sonic purity. Jazz is reproduced with a lifelike presence that makes you sit up in your chair and pay attention. It reminded me that listening is sacred when the room is designed for it.
Toronto… we have work to do. And honestly, that work has already started. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
We’re Live on SonixFM, and the Momentum Is Real
BEANS & BEATS It’s A Jazz Thing continues to grow inside its audio-only home on SonixFM.
No visuals. No distractions. Just four hours plus of curated listening.
We reached 320 live listeners during our last broadcast, with more cycling through throughout the session. The 300-500 consistent-listener target is now clearly within reach. Jazz is not rushed. Growth is not rushed. The room builds slowly and intentionally.
This Sunday, we return with another deep exploration. Jazz that moves, breathes, and surprises you mid-sip of coffee.

TOOR Hotel Muse Bistro Bar
Something special is about to happen in Toronto.
SIPS & Sounds officially launches as our signature in-person Love Music Love Wine experience. A Bordeaux Affair is built around curated Jazz, Funk, and Soul. Thoughtful pours. Elevated food. A lounge environment where music and wine lovers can actually hear the records, taste the wines, and connect with each other.
This is not just another night out. This is where the stream becomes the room. Where the community we built online steps into a real physical space together.
Book a table. Bring your partner. Bring a friend who loves wine. Bring the colleague who always asks you for music recommendations.
Because once the room fills and the music starts, you will understand why nights like this become stories people tell later.

Final Sip
New York reminded me of something I never want to forget. Listening is sacred. Not in some abstract way, but in a very real, physical, human way. The room matters. The sound system matters. The discipline of the people in the room matters. The intention behind the selection matters. When all of that is aligned, music stops being background and becomes presence. It becomes memory. It becomes a feeling. It becomes a shared experience that can shift the energy of a whole night.
That trip sharpened something in me. It reminded me that Love Music Love Wine Radio is not here to add to the noise. It is here to build something more intentional. Something rooted in curation, patience, depth, and respect for the art of listening. Whether it is a Saturday session built around Soul, a Sunday morning Jazz ritual on SonixFM, a midweek deep dive into Cape Jazz on Twitch, or a glass of Cabernet Franc paired with the right emotional frequency, the mission stays the same. We are creating rooms through sound. We are building a culture around how music is experienced, not just consumed.
The growth on SonixFM is a real sign of that. Reaching 320 live listeners tells me there is a real appetite for slow burn curation, for audio-first connection, for longer listening, for trust. That matters to me because I have never wanted this to be disposable. I want the shows to feel lived in. I want people to build rituals around them. I want the music to meet people in a meaningful way while they drink their coffee, pour their wine, sit with their thoughts, message a friend, or simply let the room breathe.
And then there is SIPS & Sounds on April 10. That night represents more than an event. It represents movement. It is the next chapter in taking this from stream to room, from digital to physical, from signal to space. It is a chance to gather in Toronto with intention, with music at the centre, with wine in the glass, with conversation in the air, and with the kind of atmosphere that makes people want to stay. That is what I came back from New York thinking about most. Not imitation. Inspiration. Toronto has its own identity, its own rhythm, its own people, and I believe deeply that we can build rooms here that honour listening in a serious and beautiful way.
So this week feels important. Not because it is loud, but because it is aligned. The shows are aligned. The purpose is aligned. The direction is aligned. Love Music Love Wine Radio continues to grow because the foundation is real. Real music. Real people. Real vibe. Thank you for reading, for tuning in, for sharing the links, for showing up in the chat, for telling a friend, and for being part of this culture we are building together, one room at a time. The signal is getting stronger, and the future feels properly tuned.
