Let’s keep it 100, I’m still not a DJ. I’m a selector, a vibe curator, a radio host, and a guy with 2TB of music and too many opinions about how a Merlot should pair with a Marvin Gaye record.
The more I use the Reloop Mixon 8 Pro, the more I realize: this thing is not just for DJs. It’s for anyone who lives for music, works with music, or just wants to move sound with purpose. I’ve now used it for multiple LmLw Radio shows, some pop-up studio sessions, and it’s about to come with me to SIPS & Sounds, our new in-person wine-and-music experience.
This is Review #4 in the series, and I’m still finding new features that elevate what I do.
🔧 5 New Features I’m Loving on the Mixon 8 Pro
1. Ultra Glide Crossfader and Linefaders
This is that smooth, butter-slick motion that lets you fade in and out like you’re stirring cream into espresso. I use it to slowly introduce instrumental layers or glide out during voiceovers, no jerky movements, just flow.
2. High-Resolution 100mm Pitch Faders
Precision matters, especially when I’m syncing tracks with different tempos or holding a groove under a vocal drop. These pitch faders are long, accurate, and feel good under your fingers.
3. Silent Cue Function
This one’s underrated. It lets me cue up a track in the background silently, no sound leaks, no surprises, then drop it at the exact moment I want. Perfect when I’m live and need that next track locked without previewing through speakers.
4. Integrated Docking Station (Fits an iPad Pro 12.9”)
For mobile radio, this is a lifesaver. I drop in my iPad, open djay Pro, and boom, full control, no laptop needed. The layout even feels like it was designed with mobile shows in mind.
5. Metal Transport Controls (Stop/Play/Cue Buttons)
These buttons are not plastic gimmicks. They’re solid, metallic, and feel like hardware that wants to be used daily. I press them dozens of times each show, and they respond every time with zero lag.
🌍 5 More Use Cases That Prove the Mixon 8 Pro is for Everyone
1. The Podcast Producer with a Musical Edge
If you’re cutting interviews, inserting background music, and managing transitions, this controller gives you full audio flexibility. Run vocals through one channel, music through another, and trigger drops or samples on the fly.
2. The Yoga or Wellness Instructor Who Wants to Set a Mood
I’ve seen it happen: playlists matter in wellness spaces. With the Mixon 8 Pro, you can control the flow of ambient tracks, loop meditative sections, and even talk live over instrumental blends without skipping a beat.
3. The Indie Artist Hosting Their Own Listening Sessions
Want to launch an EP with a little more magic? Use the Mixon to build a set, mix in commentary, layer effects, and create an immersive listening event, live or streamed.
4. The Music Educator or Workshop Facilitator
This is a teaching tool. Show students how to isolate vocals, break down stems, manipulate tempo, and understand live mixing in a real-time, hands-on way.
5. The Audiovisual Creative Doing Live Performances
If you run sound for a live art show, film screening, or dance performance, this controller gives you on-the-fly adaptability. Trigger sound cues, manage fade-ins, and create immersive soundscapes in real time.

This is where radio meets wine bar. The controller lets me move between genres, cue up sonic textures, and keep the energy smooth while talking through terroirs and tannins. This is not a set, it’s a sensory journey.
🎯 Final Thoughts
The Reloop Mixon 8 Pro is not just for DJs. It’s for:
Music lovers with stories to tell
Curators with crates (digital or vinyl)
Hosts, producers, educators, creators
Anyone who wants to control how sound is shared
It’s for people like me.
So if you’re still wondering whether this controller fits outside of clubs or DJ booths, the answer is yes. Loud and clear.
